We Meet Who We Need To Meet

There are always those people you meet during your life time for a reason. Sometimes it takes years to see the reason and sometimes you never find out. For me I had the blessing of meeting Codi during high school, she was so cute and beautiful. We danced on the Mountain Crest Drill Team together and had a fun year.
Now 4 years later I had this creative idea for a photo shoot but was nervous to ask someone to be a model, it hit me that I should ask Codi. We met and I had everything ready for the photo shoot. She explained at the beginning that if she hadn’t read my blog she probably wouldn’t have agreed. As she changed into the outfit for the shoot I saw the scars physical and emotional. We sat and talked as she opened up about trials she has had. You truly never know who around you is struggling. Sitting in front of this beautiful girl that many girls in high school were jealous of, you would have never known she was struggling inside for years.

I wanted to cry knowing her struggling’s but at the same time wanted to cry with joy that she is finding her way. For each of us we need to seek help in different ways. I loved hearing her talk about her love for dance and her friends who are so supportive. Everyone needs a support group and at first it may feel awkward telling someone that has known you for years that you are struggling and may need some help, in the end it may be the thing that saves your life.

Being left with physical and emotional scars can be very damaging, and gaining the confidence to be comfortable in your own skin may take years but seeing Codi dance and being able to work with her was truly inspiring. Her strength to endure is incredible.

I hope you find hope in this blog post, I love being able to share my personal story and now be apart of the stories of others. There is so many who are pushing through trials right now and many who have overcome their trials. I wish you all the best!

Warmly, Kylie
