Building Our Home on Wheels

I’m so happy to finally be sharing this post!!!

We purchased this old camper in hopes of a fun project and it ended with us having a stronger marriage and a more genuinely happy family. I loved how quickly such a small space felt like more than enough. This camper project pushed us to our limits at times, late nights, trying to communicate different ideas and forcing us to change the plan at a moments notice. But the biggest was that our little family is the highest priority. Us being there for eachother physically and emotionally, us wanting the best for each one us. Even if this cute camper were to be gone tomorrow we are now forever changed for the better because of the experience of building it.

We changed our minds a lot in the beginning of how much demo we wanted to it. I think in the end we pretty but cleared out everything but the fridge. We even moved where the toilet was located to better fit our family’s needs.

We did a large sink which helped a ton!! And did some fun colors on the interior and exterior to help it feel more like home.

Painting the exterior was one of my favorite parts, I sanded the whole thing by hand which was a pain but was worth it for how it turned out :) I’m in love with how the design compliments the body of the camper but also has a bit of a more modern feel. I did change my design in the process to better fit the body.

Our first of many trips was amazing!! The camper quickly felt like home. We loved it so much and are already looking forward to when we can live in it again. I wanted to add that we did a full roof rubber paint coat once all work was done to make sure that it was taken care of :)
