Embracing the Mess

When I was still pregnant with Kellen I was getting sick of waiting around to see if my random contractions would turn into the real deal. So even though I was having contractions 10 minutes apart all day I decided kyson and I needed a date. We drove to Bear lake (about an hour drive in a canyon that I had no cell service) and enjoyed lunch together. One of kyson's favorite things is to dip his food into well anything. This corn dog and honey mustard were heaven for him even though I'm sure he ate more honey mustard than corn dog. There are way too many moments when I try to keep him perfectly clean instead of allowing him to embrace the toddler he is. So this time I laid the food out and let him go to town. The families next to us loved it, kyson loved it and I loved it. Sometimes it feels good to just say whatever and let them do their own thing no matter the outcome and to not stress of things to come but just enjoy the moment you are in.
